John the Baptist Cookies

These are a cookie for Advent, not for Christmas proper.

Pour into a bowl:
  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • 1.5 cups honey
  • 2 cups peanut butter 
Mix all together until very combined. Don't worry if you can see the powder of the powdered milk; it will gradually get absorbed. Refrigerate until somewhat hard.

Crush 3 cups rice chex in a different bowl; a plastic measuring cup works very well to crush the rice chex if you have a hard, metal or ceramic bowl.

Shape the cookie mixture into small, 1 to 1.5 inch balls and roll in the rice chex. It works best if you freeze the shaped cookies as you go, and periodically re-refrigerate the cookie mixture. These cookies should be stored frozen.
